Car Insurance

What kind of a world do we live in where car insurance is mandatory and health insurance is optional? Is it because our society is more interested in liability than accountability? What kind of crap is that?

If I am to believe the never ending barrage of television advertising, if I switch to Geico, I'll save hundreds of dollars. If I then switch to State Farm, I will save hundreds of dollars. If I switch to Esurance, I will save hundreds of dollars. If I switch to Amica, I'll save hundreds of dollars. If the hype is to be believed, I could switch every month for a year, and by the end of that year, I should have a couple of grand, in addition to my car insurance. Somehow, I think their claims are exaggerated. So if they all can save hundreds of dollars by switching, that says they are all ripping us off by hundreds of dollars every year.

National health insurance without insurance reform is going to be a quagmire of bureaucracy that can never be undone. Let's see to insurance reform before we do anything else.
